The NFL has announced that the December 27 New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings game will be flexed and air on NBC’s Sunday Night Football at 8:30 PM ET. The league also announced that the Jacksonville Jaguars at New Orleans Saints game will now air at 4:05 PM ET on CBS.

The league is moving the previously scheduled Sunday night matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens to 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Indianapolis Colts-Miami Dolphins game will remain at its original 1 PM ET start time, but it will cross flex from CBS to FOX.

The NFL uses “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 11-17 to ensure viewers see quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots and gives teams a chance to play their way into a primetime or national late-afternoon time slot on CBS or FOX.

For each flexible scheduling week with the exception of Week 17, the NFL announces the start times of games on Sundays no later than 12 days prior to that weekend. To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, flexible scheduling decisions for that Sunday can be made on only six days’ notice.
