The NFL has announced that the January 3 Minnesota at Green Bay game has been flexed to air in prime time on NBC’s Sunday Night Football game at 8:30 PM ET. The game, which will decide the NFC North winner, will be the 256th and final regular season game of the NFL season.

Week 17 game times and network assignments are finalized and announced in the week leading up to the league’s final weekend.

The NFL uses “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 11-17 to ensure viewers see quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots and gives teams a chance to play their way into a primetime or national late-afternoon time slot on CBS or FOX.

For each flexible scheduling week with the exception of Week 17, the NFL announces the start times of games on Sundays no later than 12 days prior to that weekend. To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, flexible scheduling decisions for that Sunday can be made on only six days’ notice.
