NFL clubs begin their on-field preparations for the 2018 season this week, as rookies for the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints report to camp by Thursday, July 19.

The Ravens, who will take on the Bears in the NFL/Hall of Fame Game (Thursday, August 2; NBC, 8:00 PM ET), will be the first team with a full squad in camp when their veterans report on Wednesday, July 18. All 32 NFL teams will be in camp by Friday, July 27.

This year, more than half the league (66 percent) will be “staying home” for training camp. Teams considered to be “staying home” hold training camp at their respective practice facility, home stadium or at a site within 10 miles of their team headquarters. In 2000, only 10 of 31 (32 percent) teams stayed close to home.

“Twin Cities Orthopedics are a great partner and we can’t wait for training camp for our fans to see this incredible facility,” said Vikings co-owner and president Mark Wilf of the Vikings’ new training camp home. “I know our staff, our coaches, our players feel great in the new home. Eden Prairie was a great home for us, and now Eagan going forward is a great community and we’re excited to be a part of it for a long time to come.”

While several teams are staying close to home for camp, 11 teams still employ the philosophy of holding camp away from their facilities.

The Houston Texans are one of the teams that “come together” away from home, holding training camp at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia for the second consecutive season.

“We really like The Greenbrier,” said Texans head coach Bill O’Brien. “It gives us a chance to get away. I think it was good last year for the team bonding … We felt like we came out of there with some good chemistry, with guys feeling good about their roles on the team, and The Greenbrier itself is a great place.”

Green Bay and Pittsburgh hold the longest active NFL training camp tenures, with the Packers returning for their 61st consecutive summer at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. The Steelers will train at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania for the 53rd straight season.

Here is the number of NFL teams that stayed home for training camp since 2000:
