The NFL announced that it will “flex” the Week 14 matchup when the New England Patriots visit the Houston Texans on December 13. The game will now appear on NBC’s Sunday Night Football and will kick off at 8:30 PM ET.

The previously scheduled Sunday Night game between the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens will move to a 1 PM ET kickoff and will air on FOX.

The NFL uses “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 11-17 to ensure viewers see quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots and gives teams a chance to play their way into a primetime or national late-afternoon time slot on CBS or FOX.

For each flexible scheduling week with the exception of Week 17, the NFL announces the start times of games on Sundays no later than 12 days prior to that weekend. To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, flexible scheduling decisions for that Sunday can be made on only six days’ notice.
