Historical Notes on the 2021 Trade Deadline
In the week leading up to the 2021 NFL trade deadline, a total of eight players were traded in seven total trades.
There was just one player-for-player trade during the week of the deadline: OG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the New York Jets in exchange for TE Dan Brown.

Four offensive players and four defensive players were traded during the deadline week this season. Last season, three offensive players and eight defensive players were traded during the week of the trade deadline.
Duvernay-Tardif joined center B.J. Finney and tackle Duane Brown as the only offensive linemen traded during the week of the trade deadline since 2010.
Twelve wide receivers and 12 linebackers have been traded within a week of the deadline since 2010, the most by any position groups.

Three former Pro Bowlers were traded the week of the deadline this season, continuing a recent trend.
It’s the fifth consecutive season that three or more former Pro Bowlers were traded during the week of the deadline — adding up to a total 16 ex-Pro Bowlers changing teams since 2017. However, from 2010–16, just five former Pro Bowlers were dealt during deadline week.
