NFL Football Operations’ mission is to ensure that NFL football is the greatest competitive sport in the world. The league fulfills that mission, in part, by exploring and embracing innovations that move the game forward.

Innovation is a collaborative process. That’s why the NFL values an environment where the NFL and its partners can collaborate to implement creative solutions that address the priorities of the Future of Football Committee.

The Future of Football Committee is designed to identify opportunities, spark discussion and provide feedback on key technology and innovative solutions within the football ecosystem.

The Future of Football Committee members are:

  • Paraag Marathe (Co-Chair): President of San Francisco 49ers Enterprises and Executive Vice President of Football Operations, San Francisco 49ers
  • John Spanos (Co-Chair): President of Football Operations, Los Angeles Chargers
  • Kevin Abrahams: Senior Vice President, Football Operations and Strategy, New York Giants
  • Kwesi Adofo-Mensah: General Manager, Minnesota Vikings
  • Andrew Berry: Executive Vice President, Football Operations and General Manager, Cleveland Browns
  • Katie Blackburn: Executive Vice President, Cincinnati Bengals
  • Tony Khan: Chief Football Strategy Officer, Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Howie Roseman: Executive Vice President and General Manager, Philadelphia Eagles

Through the NFL’s Innovative Ideas blog, fans can gain access to the behind-the-scenes process of generating new ideas to improve the game. These ideas serve to advance and highlight innovations across the league.

The NFL’s Football Operations Innovation Team is always looking for creative ideas. The new NFL Forward Crowdsourcing Platform allows anyone to submit proposals that offer creative ideas to advance the game. Submissions will be evaluated on how well they address the Future of Football Committee's challenges. The best ideas may lead to a chance to work with the NFL to bring such ideas to life.

Innovation is about progress and improvement; principles that the NFL stands by.
