As part of the NFL Votes initiative, the league is celebrating National Voter Registration Day (NVRD), a nonpartisan holiday to encourage civic engagement. The NFL is encouraging everyone to check their voter registration status and register to vote to ensure they can vote in the upcoming election.

Everyone can take this important step by clicking HERE – this is the Rock the Vote (RTV) – NFL election center that was created by RTV back in 2020 to help with voter registration. Since then, tens of thousands of people have registered to vote using the site and you should feel free to share it with your family, friends, and network.

During the midterm elections, voters will elect all 435 U.S. House members, about one-third of the U.S. Senate, governors in 36 states, and numerous local and state officials – all of whom help to shape the priorities and direction of the country. There are a number of educational videos available on NFL.com/votes to learn more about why it’s crucial to get out and vote, including: Importance of voting in state and local elections.

All 32 clubs are activating around the initiative and all 30 NFL stadiums are available to be utilized for election-related activities if needed by local election officials. In addition, starting during this past Sunday’s games, clubs displayed NFL Votes within their stadiums and on their fields. The first part of the NFL Votes marketing campaign, “Bigger Than Sunday,” which focuses on voter registration also launched – you can watch the spot here. The campaign will continue through National Voter Education Week starting October 4th and culminate on November 8th – Election Day.

NFL Votes was founded in August 2020 as a joint effort between the NFL and the NFL Players Association and focuses on three key components of the electoral process: voter education, voter registration, and voter activation. By working with non-partisan partners, I am a voter., Rock the Vote, and RISE, the NFL and its clubs help to educate, register, and activate voters across the country. New this year, the NFL is also working with Vet the Vote, which aims to address a national shortage of poll workers by recruiting and training military veterans and their families to help our elections run effectively.

Democracy is not a spectator sport. We hope you will make your voice heard this year by making sure you are registered to vote and then casting a ballot in the upcoming elections on November 8th and beyond.
