Few people understand football better than former NFL players. They have firsthand high-level experience with the game, unique insight into the rules, and world-class athleticism.
The NFL sees officiating as an opportunity for former and transitioning players to stay on the football field, feel the thrill of the competition and contribute to the game they love. Part of the NFL’s Football Officiating Academy, the Legends Officiating Development Program (LODP) provides former and current players with a customized officiating program.
